The Driving Force

This blog has come about because of a deep desire to make a difference in the lives of girls who are trafficked into the sex slave industry around the world. We are about raising awareness of the shocking figures and statistics which show slavery is on the increase and is now more prevelant than ever in our history. It is too easy to be put off by the huge numbers (1.4 million girls and women, 27 million slaves) but we are putting our hand up to do all we can to support those who are stepping out and making a difference! We will be holding get-togethers, cocktail evenings, silent auctions and other fundraising events to both raise awareness and funds. Please join us! It starts with one step...

I like this quote for today:

If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.
Desmond Tutu

This goes to the heart of the matter.  There is no sitting on the fence in life; if you know about it and ignore it, you passively condone it.  Man's greatest downfall has been passivity!  Find something that challenges your sense of right and wrong and do something about it.  Find a way to bring your intentions closer to your actions and there you will develop integrity.

The A21 Campaign - Natalia's Story

The A21 Campaign - Natalia's Story

This is a great overview as to why we are so passionate about this cause. It's easy to be overwhelmed by the numbers; but remember this girl could be your sister, your niece, your DAUGHTER...

It was at Colour conference 2011 when I first heard about human trafficking. Being a mother of a 3 year old daughter, it shocked and broke my heart hearing that there were girls the same age around the world who are sex slaves and are required to engage in “adult” experiences. Since then, my passion for doing something has grown and I can not do nothing. So join with me and a host of other women to: “BE HER RESCURER” as they cannot be rescued without us using our voice and freedom. These are things that slaves do not have.

"The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the LORD's favour has come." Luke 4:18-19
